Story

Ashley Allison, the founder and CEO of Outside the Box Equine Solutions, has always had a deep love and passion for horses. With years of experience in the horse care industry as a professional groom and stable manager, and a rider for over 40 years, Ashley has learned firsthand the importance of proper care and treatment for our equine companions. However, during that time she noticed significant  gaps in the availability of certain types of products, which inspired her to take a different approach.

As a busy pathologist juggling competitive riding and raising her children, Ashley constantly looked for ways to streamline tasks in order to make life better for herself and her horse. But her journey took an unexpected turn after experiencing the devastating loss of her horse, Lola, due to colic. Colic was an issue that had come up repeatedly over the years not just with Lola but also with horses belonging to close friends, and many years earlier she suffered the loss of another horse from colic. But this time was different. This time she was armed with decades of medical knowledge and was, quite simply, fed up with the lack of options for colic prevention for these large but decidedly delicate creatures. She was determined to save anyone else from experiencing the same tragedy. With the help of her supportive husband, like-minded coach and friend, and a couple of colicky equines, Ashley developed Colic Tonic in just a few months and enlisted others over the next year to try it with their sensitive horses. With the surprising effectiveness of her new product, she knew she needed to make it more widely available to horses in need, and Outside the Box Equine Solutions was born.  Ashley's expertise and credentials in both the medical and equine fields allow her to bring a unique perspective and authority to the table.
